How this calculator works
Why position sizing matters
Position sizing starts with the amount you can afford to lose, not the number of shares you want to buy. A wider stop produces a smaller position; a tighter stop produces a larger one for the same planned loss.
Example
With ₹1,00,000 capital, 1% risk, entry at ₹500 and a stop at ₹490, the planned risk is ₹1,000 and risk per share is ₹10. The resulting position is 100 shares.
Frequently asked questions
