How this calculator works

Gross versus net profit

Gross profit is the change in price multiplied by quantity. Net profit deducts the charges you enter. Taxes and broker-specific charges should be checked separately.

Use realistic prices

The expected sell price may not be the executed price. Slippage and bid–ask spreads matter, especially in less liquid securities.

Calculate stock profit after charges

Stock profit is the difference between sale proceeds and purchase cost, adjusted for quantity and trading charges. Use the long setting when buying first and selling later, or short when selling first and buying back. Enter combined brokerage, taxes, DP charges and other costs from your contract note for a closer net P&L estimate.

Stock profit example

Buying 100 shares at ₹500 and selling at ₹525 produces ₹2,500 gross profit. If entry and exit charges total ₹150, net profit becomes ₹2,350. Return percentage should be judged against the capital committed, while break-even price shows the exit needed to recover the entered costs.
